Today I was up early and took a trip down the Peninsula to take a look at some vintage mirrors I’d sourced. My hubby is on holidays now for a whole month, yippee, so he and the boys got on with outdoor stuff while I headed down the coast (after a cafe breakfast on my own for what feels like ages..was rather blissful!)
Back to the mirrors! I was pleased to find they were just as pretty as they’d been described…
The one on the left is a sweet little bevelled edge one that’s an unusual star-like shape:
The other is a gorgeous art deco one with lovely green tinted mirror panels on the sides:
Happily no chips in either of them, and the mirrors are nice and clear. The art deco one shows some ageing with black marks mainly around the edges, but that wear just makes it look more beautiful in my opinion!
And they look good anywhere at all…
Also earlier this week, I was interviewed (eek!) by Alana of Hunt & Bow here in Melbourne. Alana sources vintage furniture and gives it a new lease of life with paint and full reupholstery in bright, chic fabrics. Very clever indeed and her results are amazing. If you want to read the interview it’s here on her colourful & beautiful blog.
